Minyon Rosh Pinoh

Minyon Rosh Pinoh

Minyon Rōsh Pinoh is a trans-led, Covid-conscious frum antizionist minyon in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

אֶבֶן מָאֲסוּ הַבּוֹנִים הָיְתָה לְרֹאשׁ פִּנָּה
"The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone." (Tehilim 118)

Our davening is traditional and spirited. Our Tōrah is rooted in textual study, inspired by Ḥasidus and our radical politics. There is an opt-in system for counting in the minyon. The meḥitsah is designed to foster emergent gender affinity—congregents may sit on whichever side they want, including in front of or behind it. The iker (essence) is to have fun with it! Services are usually led by a non-binary trans man and gabbi'd by a she/her femboy. Our priority is enabling everyone to participate fully and in alignment with their gender(s) while remaining oriented toward halakha and homosocial davening. We daven in loshn-kōdesh (Hebrew and Aramaic), and the vernaculars are Yiddish and English.

We are cultivating a left-wing orthodox environment which is welcoming of Jews of all observances. We are dedicated to making Yiddishkeyt accessible to all Jews, and are actively invested in combating racism in Jewish spaces.
